"STRONG ENOUGH TO LAST" BY WILLAMENA (EP REVIEW)

Favorite Track: Darkest Before The Dawn

Willamena are an indie rock band from Kalamazoo, Michigan. Their most recent EP, titled "Strong Enough To Last," came out on June 13th, 2017. The EP was said to be inspirational, and I could not agree more. From beginning to end, I thought the lyrics were incredible and definitely relatable and inspirational. The lyrical themes on here range from trying to find positivity, even during your darkest moments ("Darkest Before The Dawn" to saying that someone will be there to help you through those times and that you're not alone ("Open Up The Stars"). "As Long As I Can" drew me in from the start and was a good opener. The lead single, "When You Close Your Eyes," was pretty good as well, especially the chorus, and I can see why it's pretty popular. "Open Up The Stars" and "Strong Enough" seem to be more country/folk influenced tracks and stand out from the others musically.
