Earlier on in 2020, The Middle Room released a few singles and a cover, and earlier this month, they dropped their debut EP, titled “Never Satisfied.”
“Hold That Thought” opens the EP with catchy melodies and instrumentals that lead to the song’s chorus, where the vocals really stand out as they deliver the first of many attention-grabbing performances. “What A Catch” also brings memorable instrumentals right away (the most notable of them being the very impressive guitar parts that lead the beginning of the song). The vocals give a stellar performance early on as well, and the instrumentals bring a ton of energy throughout the song, especially during the pre-chorus and the chorus that follows. “Why Worry” contains similar amounts of energy as well, and also brings captivating vocals and impressive guitar work throughout.
“Firewall” brings catchy melodies and instrumentals, as well as tempo changes that make it stand out amongst the other tracks on the EP. “Every Now And Then” is just as catchy, and contains a feature from Glimmers’ Maggie Schneider, whose voice is a perfect match for the track. “20/20” is second to last, and is another standout track, with a softer start that incorporates some poppier influences before the upbeat bass and drums aid the guitar in driving the rhythm as the song leads up to its huge chorus, which contains one of the strongest vocal performances on the entire release. The EP concludes with “(It’s Dangerous To Go) Alone,” which contains many of the elements that the previous tracks brought to the table, from its energetic rhythm to catchy composition and stellar performances. Across its seven tracks, “Never Satisfied” provides listeners with consistently catchy composition and brilliant performances that make up an impressive debut EP.
