Cold Kingdom have released their sophomore album, titled “Into The Black Sky.”
The record has a handful of energetic tracks, such as “Desire,” where the vocals show off during the very impressive chorus, “Volatile,” with chaotic drums and guitars and unique melodies in the interesting chorus, and two of the most memorable tracks on the whole record, “A New Disaster” and “Ammunition.” A few of the other tracks slow things down a little bit, including “Under The Surface,” a dark, haunting 25-second introductory track that really sets the tone for the record, “Devil In Me” continues to bring that darker tone through the riffs and melodies, and “In Your Shadow,” which has one of the catchiest choruses this album offers. “Left Me Haunted” adds in piano and synths, while “After The Fall” incorporates some softer and more simplistic percussion at first before the bass, drums and cleaner guitars build up the song until the point where harder instrumentals come in. The two remaining tracks land somewhere inbetween - upbeat, but not as upbeat as some of the songs on the record. Synths drive “Invisible,” leading up to the huge, memorable chorus, and also drive the verses of “Fear Is Yet To Come,” while the pre-chorus is led by bass and harder hitting drums before the synths return during the once again massive chorus that this song brings.
“Into The Black Sky” is a great rock record, with a lot of impressive moments to be found both vocally and instrumentally, and overall, it’s a pretty memorable release. "INTO THE BLACK SKY" IS AVAILABLE NOW. LISTEN TO IT HERE:
