Following the release of the "I See Blue" EP last year, Bears In Trees are back with their sophomore EP, "I Want To Feel Chaotic."
The EP opens up with the upbeat “Ramblings Of A Lunatic,” bringing catchy composition from the guitar and ukulele in the intro and the melodies and harmonies in the verses that follow. The pre-chorus and chorus are very memorable, and the bridge is interesting as well, showcasing the ukulele and those beautiful vocal harmonies even more. “Permanence” is a bit slower at first, but still brings a lot of memorability in its intro and especially in its chorus, where the vocals really shine. The second chorus stands out, with emotional vocals and some more upbeat instrumentation, and the drums continue to bring that same level of energy during the huge final chorus.
“Rust” begins with striking piano in the intro before louder bass and drums drive the rest of that section, as well as the verses. The instrumentation throughout the entire track is really catchy, and the softer bridge focuses on the vocals and acoustic guitar before more instrumentals come in to build the song up to its final chorus. “Cobwebs” is more upbeat in comparison, bringing catchy melodies and instrumentals all around. The vocals show a lot more on this track, the chorus is very memorable, and there’s a lot of energy on here. Closing out this EP is “Reverberate,” which also begins with piano before more percussion kicks in and helps make it more upbeat, and even more instrumentation comes in during the bigger chorus. “I Want To Feel Chaotic” showcases the various musical elements and styles found within Bears In Trees’ sound, and makes a pretty good EP.
