Sleeptalk have released their latest EP, titled “Desert Daze.”
The EP begins with “Stuck In Time.” The track is purely instrumental, but the synths and reverbed guitars really help build it up. Following it up is the lead single “dontbesoblue,” which is arguably the most upbeat song on the EP, and is a perfect blend of elements from their older material and elements they experiment with throughout the rest of this EP. “Lights Down Low” is an interlude that closes out the first half of the EP, and its more relaxed vibe really embraces the new direction that the band is going in.
“Feeling You” also mixes elements from throughout the band’s discography, with the ambient guitar riffs and equally as catchy vocal melodies. “I Want All Your Time” is a lot simpler and softer instrumentally, allowing the vocal melodies and added harmonies to really show off. Title track “Desert Daze” closes out the EP very strongly. The instrumentals draw you in before the vocals are added, the chorus and post-chorus are very catchy, and the song overall gets more and more upbeat as it continues. Sleeptalk’s latest release shows them going in a new direction with their sound, while still dabbling with elements of their previous material. LISTEN TO THE EP HERE:
