AS TIME FADES

As Time Fades began in 2015, with their formation following the split of a previous band that three of the members were in. The band’s debut EP “Growing Season” dropped this past April, and it had a pretty big impact on the band.

“I feel like the EP has made us all come together more as a band,” drummer Toby says, “releasing it, learning how to market, and pushing our music out there. I’m looking forward to taking what we learned from that and applying that to future releases.”

“I think this EP gave us a direction to head in,” bassist Schuyler Spivey adds, “We finally locked down what our sound is and it’s going to keep growing and changing. It taught us to think of the band as a larger picture and how to look at it from the business side of things.”

Not too long ago, the band already released more music - more specifically, a new single titled “This Is What I Paid For.”

“With the EP, we were practicing more and we felt the songs were coming together quicker. The process was roughly the same. We’ll write a bit, we’ll write instrumentals and see how we can build around that to make a full song. This time around, we had the title and we kind of worked around that. Some of the lyrics we wrote all together which doesn’t happen all the time. We did a bit of group writing for that one,” Schyuler explains about the writing process for the new single and how it compares to the writing process for their EP.

Speaking of EPs - it seems like the band’s sophomore effort is on the way.

“It’s full of fun songs, maybe an acoustic, who knows? We want to throw together a fun, energy packed EP,” Schuyler hints about their next release.

Following the release of this single, what’s happening next for As Time Fades?

“Getting ourselves out there more,” Toby says, “I’m hoping to go on our first tour soon. Our EP is coming out hopefully early next year.”

“We’re hoping to branch out and do shows in other cities and hopefully little weekend runs with other bands in neighboring states,” Schuyler adds.

With a new song out now and more material on the way, As Time Fades
