Never Better have released their debut EP, “Transcend.”
Opener “Nice Night For A Neck Injury” instantly brings plenty of energy through its catchy instrumentals. The melodies are the same way, especially during the memorable chorus, the guitar solo towards the end is pretty impressive, and the song as a whole is a great pop punk track and even better opener. Second up is the lead single “Shame On Me For Kissing You With My Eyes Closed So Tight,” sharing some similar aspects to the previous track, as it’s also full of energy and catchy from start to finish.
The following two tracks are easily some of the biggest standouts on the EP as far as the musicality goes. “333” has some darker composition, the bass and drums get to shine as they drive the rhythm, and both vocalists also get to show off their individual vocal styles through the performance. Second to last is my personal favorite on the EP, “Finding A Light In The Darkness.” Much like the third track, this one’s also a bit darker musically, but what makes it stand out as much as it does is how it adds in some alternative influences and ambient instrumentals in the verses before the faster pre-chorus and meaningful chorus come in. Wrapping up this EP is “Epilogue,” which brings just as much (if not more) energy as the opener with the rapid instrumentals driving the track, especially during the verses. The bridge highlights the instrumentals and brings a lot of drama as it builds up to the ending. The orchestrals at the end of the track fit very well as the song fades out, ending the song and EP perfectly. With “Transcend,” Never Better have created a great debut. All of the songs on here are fantastic pop punk tracks and, all together, make an incredible release in that genre with so much promise. "tRANSCEND" IS AVAILABLE NOW. LISTEN TO THE EP HERE:
