EXNATIONS have released their debut EP, titled “Tiny Sounds In The Dark.” “Never About The Money” has a pretty simplistic, yet still catchy, guitar part that, keeps the rhythm going, along with the drums. The lead single, “Can’t Get Hurt,” is definitely one of my favorites on the whole EP. Big synths drive the intro and lure the listener in, while the pre-chorus and chorus provide some great melodies. “Wore All Black” is pretty similar to the last track, and it’s another really catchy one.
The softer verses in “Celebration/Sign” allow the vocals to really show, bringing one of the best vocal performances on the EP. Those verses lead up to a huge chorus, with more emphasis added onto it by the drums. “Blank White” seems like more of a ballad at first, but the upbeat drums and synths help pick up the pace a bit to finish this EP out strong. Overall, I liked this EP. There are quite a few catchy and memorable moments and also some impressive performances to be found across these five songs.
