Lese Majesty have released their latest EP, titled “Patterns & Signals.”
“Signs” starts off the EP very well, being a pretty anthemic opener. The catchy guitars driving the intro and darker melodies in the verse drew me in, leading up to the big chorus where the vocals and instrumentals both really shine. The
vocals in particular also stand out in the second verse and pre-chorus, and that performance may be my favorite on this EP. “In Stone” begins slower and softer as an acoustic guitar is the main force driving the verses until the faster drums come in, leading up to another huge chorus with interesting, memorable melodies, as well as a hard hitting bridge where the vocalist hits some higher notes during the performance. “Gravity Calling” is definitely a bit more upbeat than the previous track. Something I really like about this one is how all the instruments come together as they drive the intro and verses, and they all seem to stand out equally as much rather than one in particular standing out over the others. The vocals also stand out, providing darker and more unique melodies. “No Evil” is another slower and softer track, and I love the more ambient guitars and how those parts seem to echo in the background. The more relaxed instrumentals allow the vocals to take the lead more for a little while. I really liked the bridge as well - it starts out acoustically driven, but once the harder guitars and drums come in they help build it up to the huge final chorus and ending, and the vocals shine the most during that section compared to the rest of the track. Second to last is the lead single “Age of Outrage,” which is a lot more energetic and upbeat. It brings some darker guitar parts and harder hitting drums in the beginning before the vocals drive the verses and bring some great melodies. The song as a whole is so catchy and easily one of my favorites off of the EP. The final track on here is “Lie Detector,” another slower one with some darker composition. The chorus on here brings even more memorable melodies to the table, shown through yet another fantastic vocal performance. Overall, I really liked this EP. I think this band has an interesting sound, and all of these tracks really show it through the impressive performances and unique composition. LISTEN TO THE EP HERE:
