Chay Snowdon have released two tracks, titled “Mon Cheri” and “Sha La La.”
I had never heard of this band before, but I decided to give these two singles a chance, and was pretty pleasantly surprised with what I heard.
“Mon Cheri” is upbeat from beginning to end, and is undoubtedly the more energetic single out of the two. Catchy guitars and pounding drums drive the song as far as the instrumentals are concerned, building up the pre-chorus to the memorable chorus (a definite highlight of the track), and the vocal performance is really intriguing, showing a glimpse of the unique voice that the singer of this band has. “Sha La La” is much slower than the previous track, but still brings just as much to the table. The drums hit even harder on here than they do on the previous track, and the vocal performance is even louder, showing off the unique voice even more as it delivers great melodies and keeps your attention all throughout. I found these two tracks to be pretty intriguing. The performances were really good, the melodies and overall composition are reminiscent of some slightly older rock and alternative music, and together, these two songs show off this band’s interesting sound.
