Sounds And Scenarios first appeared on my radar after dropping their second EP “While You Roam” back in the summer of 2019, Sounds And Scenarios rang in the New Year with the release of their third one, titled “Maybe Someday We’ll Bloom.”
The lead single “Seattle” kicks things off, and shows the blend of older and newer influences that listeners can expect from the EP as a whole, from the catchy instrumentals that lead the intro to the anthemic, sing-along-worthy chorus. The synths and poppier elements featured throughout this song return in the beginning of the following track, “Eternity,” driving the intro before the drums and guitars kick in to help carry the rhythm. The instrumentals bring a ton of energy as the song gradually builds up to its choruses, and the powerful final chorus contains captivating instrumental and vocal performances that - along with the darker composition throughout the song - showcase the band’s emo influences.
“Reminisce” is very reminiscent of the pop-punk and emo sound, especially during the huge chorus, which contains a blend of singing and screaming and one of the strongest vocal performances on the whole EP. “Greendale” has traces of these influences as well in the catchy riffs that drive the song and lead it up to the harder-hitting choruses, and “Heartstrings” closes out the EP very well, bringing in some more memorable melodies and instrumentals and another massive chorus. “Maybe Someday We’ll Bloom” displays the evolution of Sounds & Scenarios’ music through five tracks filled with strong performances and memorable composition, and overall, it’s a stellar sophomore EP that’s definitely an early contender for one of my favorites of 2021 so far. "MAYBE SOMEDAY WE'LL BLOOM" IS AVAILABLE NOW. LISTEN TO THE EP HERE:
