Fluorescents have released their debut EP, titled “Losing Sleep.”
“Future Tripping” starts the EP off strong. The intro is memorable, the vocals stand out right off the bat and deliver catchy melodies through a passionate performance, and impressive guitar solos are incorporated later on in the track. “Conversation Piece” brings a ton of energy, shown a lot throughout the guitar riffs and harmonies, which I feel really show the band’s punk and pop punk influences. The melodies are also very catchy on this track, especially during the chorus, where I feel the vocals are at their strongest on this track.
Lead single “Complacent” is also very energetic, driven by very upbeat riffs and drumbeats. Instrumentally, this is a very strong track, and the vocals show off and stand out just as much as the instrumentation does. Closing out the EP is “Down To Earth,” which is easily one of the catchiest both vocally and instrumentally, with some of the most memorable melodies and instrumentals on this EP. This EP shows off Fluorescents’ pop punk sound very well through the energy and interesting performances found on these tracks. Overall, the release is a solid debut with a lot of potential.
