A few weeks ago, Melbourne, Australia-based alternative rock band Rumours released “MANIA,” the first glimpse of their upcoming EP, titled “If Only You Could Feel Something.” Now, the quartet has returned with the release of the EP’s second single - its title track.
Darker guitars open the song before the vocals and harder-hitting drums come in and make the intro more anthemic. The melodies delivered by the vocals are just as catchy as the bass and guitar riffs driving the rhythm, and the composition gets even catchier as the song leads up to its choruses. The song is much more melodic to begin with, but the vocals get a little bit harsher in the second verse & pre-chorus, and there’s even more aggression to be found later on in the song’s bridge as it builds up to a breakdown that changes the tempo for a bit before the huge final chorus and outro come in.
This was my first impression of the band’s music, and I was really impressed by what I heard. “If Only You Could Feel Something” is an anthemic and overall very memorable alternative rock track from the band, and it makes me excited to see what else this EP has to offer. "IF ONLY YOU COULD FEEL SOMETHING TOO" IS AVAILABLE NOW. LISTEN TO THE TRACK HERE:
