Wild Truth debuted with a triad of singles over the course of 2019, and two years later, the Virginia-based trio has been preparing for the release of their long-awaited debut EP, “Drift.”
“Pressure” kicks things off with very catchy bass and guitar riffs driving the rhythm, and the intriguing vocals lead the verses in preparation for the track’s captivating chorus. Next up is the unforgettable single “No Filter,” which contains infectious hooks and upbeat instrumentals all throughout and is just such a fun track to listen to overall.
The EP reaches its midway point with “The River.” The vocal talent is showcased a lot on this track, and the game goes for the bass as it accompanies that performance with some more groovy riffs. The lead guitar and its harmonies come in shortly afterward to help build up the pre-chorus before yet another memorable chorus. Second-to-last is the release’s title track, “Drift,” which is more midtempo in comparison to the tracks prior to it. The vocals steal the spotlight, providing catchy melodies right off the bat as the song leads up to its chorus, where more instrumentals really kick in. The slightly darker “Back And Forth” wraps things up and showcases the indie and alternative influences within the band’s sound a bit more. The track also brings another huge chorus, which contains one of the best vocal performances on the entire EP. “Drift” is filled to the brim with compelling composition and performances throughout its five tracks, and collectively, they make up an outstanding debut. "DRIFT" IS AVAILABLE NOW. LISTEN TO THE EP HERE:
