Three Cheers Too Late have released their debut EP, titled “Don’t Expect Me.”
Three Cheers Too Late are a band I hadn’t heard of until this EP was announced, but I really enjoyed what I heard on this release.
“Kicked In” kicks this EP off, allowing all the instrumentals to shine in the catchy and upbeat intro, while the vocals do the same during the verses, preparing for the pretty memorable pre-chorus and chorus. “Settle For Less” brings some darker composition and harder hitting instrumentals that deliver lots of energy. The vocals on here bring some great melodies, and the tempo changes in pre-chorus and chorus make this one a standout. The second half begins with “20 Seasons,” one that gives off a much more relaxed and laid back vibe with the softer instrumentals and vocals. Despite that, it’s still a fairly upbeat song and the drums stand out a lot on this one as they drive the rhythm. Concluding this EP is the fourth track, “Chill Out,” another one that brings a lot of darker composition, but despite that, the chorus is happier sounding and very catchy, and the song overall makes a great closer for the EP. With these four songs, Three Cheers Too Late show off their pop punk sound while also adding some different elements to it that make the songs on this EP stand out a bit more, and the release as a whole makes a pretty good debut.
