Following 2016’s “I’ll Kiss All Fears Out Of Your Face,” The Deadnotes have just released their newest album, titled “Courage.”
A few of the songs on this album are on the more upbeat side, including “Fickle Fake Friend,” a personal favorite of mine with one of the biggest and best choruses on this record, the very catchy “Ghost On The Ceiling,” and the fantastic closing track “Hopeless Romantic.” In contrast, a few others are much slower, but still bring a lot to the table, such as “Failsafe,” which shows off the vocals very well, the well-written and acoustically driven “Functionality,” and “I Must Have Been Blind,” which also incorporates a little bit of acoustic guitar and builds up very well as more guitars and drums come in. The remaining tracks land somewhere in between in regards to tempo, including the hard hitting opener “Makeup,” which really foreshadows the emotion that is to come on the rest of the record, the memorable single “Never Perfect,” the powerful and emotional “Cling To You” and “Get Lost, Get Found,” one of the biggest standouts on the record and another one of my favorite tracks on it.
The Deadnotes’ latest LP is a really solid release that combines punk, pop punk and alternative rock through passionate and memorable songs. "COURAGE" IS AVAILABLE NOW. LISTEN TO THE ALBUM HERE:
