Following the release of “snow” a couple months ago, Mae Krell is back with another brand new single, titled “Colorblind.”
The song opens with the clean and ambient guitars that primarily drive the rhythm. The soulful vocal performance portrays the emotional story depicted in the lyrics (with “And now that you’ve had time to miss me, I hoped you’d come home, not feel the same,” “I never practiced my goodbyes, I didn’t think I had to” and “They said that if you died, you’d haunt me, but now you’re nowhere to be found” being a few of the most striking lines in the song). Some simple percussion joins in during the pre-chorus, the added vocal layers in the chorus help emphasize the emotion in the overall vocal performance, and the piano brought in towards the end of the song fits perfectly.
“Colorblind” brings forth plenty of emotion in both its performances and lyrics, perfectly explaining the heartbreaking aftermath of a breakup, and the track is another moving one from Mae Krell. "COLORBLIND" IS AVAILABLE NOW. LISTEN TO THE TRACK HERE:
