Favorite Tracks: Looking For You, Lucid Dream
Out In Style have released their debut album, titled “Broken Dreams.” The genre of music that this band plays is one of my favorites to listen to, so I was really excited to check out this record. “Looking For You” has a pretty interesting intro that caught my attention right away. There’s so much energy (which is something that there is plenty of all throughout this record) and this song was definitely a very good first impression of this band’s music. “Straight and Fast” has some darker instrumentation and a pretty impressive guitar solo. “Dreaming” has incredible drum parts and what could arguably be one of the best choruses on the entire record. “Ellie” has different guitar parts, some pretty good lyrics, and darker instrumentation with deeper lyrics to match. “Lucid Dream” seems to lean towards the more upbeat, happy side of pop punk. As well as that, the melodies on here are catchy, the guitar solo is very impressive, and I love the vocal harmonies at the end of the song. “Glass” has some great composition and very impressive instrumentation overall. “Just Before Dawn” is another happier and more upbeat track with some incredible bass and guitar parts. “Dead End” is another very fast paced and energetic track. The intro draws you in right away with its impressive instrumentation and the catchy melodies and great vocals keep your interest. There’s a well written interlude as well that transitions into the following track, “O’Brien.” This one may honestly be the most energetic song on the record with its insanely fast instrumentation, especially the drums, and the vocals on here are fantastic as well. “Your Smile” has some really catchy guitar parts that stand out a lot, as well as some incredible drums and a very energetic chorus full of great melodies. “Blindfolded” continues to keep that energy going with the insanely fast drums and unique guitar parts. “Drinking In Hell” has some nice guitar parts and melodies as well, but also allows the bass to get more of a chance to shine. “The Great Perhaps” has some of my favorite guitar parts on this whole record in its intro, as well as some fantastic guitar harmonies. The vocals on this song are great as well and as a whole, it’s a great closing track. Overall, I liked this record. Besides the fact that it’s a pretty strong debut, it’s very energetic and just a fun album to listen to.
