Shark Bait have released their debut EP, titled “Bare Necessities.”
“Charlie & The Waitress” immediately provides plenty of energy through the incredible instrumentation, especially the catchy guitars and fast paced drums driving the track. The melodies delivered during the verses are just as memorable as the riffs opening the song, and those during the chorus are even better. “The Drip” starts out much slower and softer than the previous track, but that allows the vocal performance to show during the verses, preparing for an anthemic and much more energetic chorus, and that energy carries on throughout the rest of the track.
Up next is “Please Guy,” a song that was both the band’s debut single and the lead single for this EP, and makes a great choice for both. The impressive guitar work instantly stands out, aided by fantastic drums to drive the verse and lead up to the chorus. The vocals on this track are a lot more raw and the performance really grabs your attention. Closing track “Worth The Wait” finishes the EP out strong with a hook and melodies that will probably get stuck in your head, delivered through another solid vocal performance. Not to mention the bridge really stands out and is a major highlight of the track. This EP was highly anticipated by many after the release of the lead single, and it was well worth the wait. Packed with infectious energy and powerful performances, “Bare Necessities” is a great debut from Shark Bait. LISTEN TO THE EP HERE:
