Ecliptic have released their debut EP, titled “Antimatter.”
The EP starts off with “Ecliptic,” with pretty interesting guitar riff that draws the listener in, as well as a great chorus. It also has some unique lyrics, like the opening lines, “Lately I’m out, out of good reasons to reach for the clouds. Why complicate when the voice isn’t loud?” “Set In Stone” shows more of the nu-metal influences, from the rapping in the verses to the breakdown later on in the song.
Speaking of influences, “Prototype” shows pretty much every different influence that the band incorporates into their sound, from the rap-rock and nu-metal style that was shown a bit in the previous track, to some elements of progressive or experimental rock music. The EP closes out with the track “Interweave,” a much softer and slower song compared to the others. Despite that, it has a huge chorus with some really catchy melodies, and is a pretty good closer. Overall, I enjoyed this EP. I like how this band combines different influences and different styles of rock music, and I think it all came together very well. LISTEN TO THE EP HERE:
