Carrington have released their latest EP, titled “Alter-Ego.”
Opening track “44 Days” instantly shows the band’s alternative and punk influences through the darker instrumentation and raw, shouted vocals, which deliver some pretty catchy melodies throughout the track. “Neon” still has traces of those punk, but leans a bit more towards the pop punk side. The track not only brings so much energy, but is also very memorable and in fact, one of the most memorable tracks on this EP.
“Serration” is pretty similar to “Neon” in those aspects, but kind of combines those influences (shown once again through the energy and catchy melodies and instrumentals) with the more emo and punk leaning elements similar to those in the opening track. Closing track and lead single “Interesting Places” shows the band truly embracing those elements, with instrumentals that truly stand out and grab your attention during the verses and a chorus that shows a bit more aggression through the screamed and shouted vocals. It’s one of my personal favorites on the entire EP and makes a perfect choice for the lead single, as well as a great closer. Carrington combines various elements of alternative, punk, and even bits and pieces of pop punk, emo and post-hardcore, all to make something that really stands out, and that experimentation within their sound is shown throughout this incredible new EP. "ALTER-EGO" IS AVAILABLE NOW. LISTEN TO IT HERE:
