Progressive rock band The Vox Arcanum have been hard at work, especially recently. They put out their first release last year and since then, they've been on a rollercoaster that only goes up.

“I met the drummer through a friend of mine in January 2014,” vocalist and guitarist Tony Garcia says about the band’s formation, “We met each other at a party and we both wanted to start a band and we kicked off from there. After that, we met our keyboardist, Julio. He joined a month afterwards. Then our previous bassist joined and about six month later we got our lead guitarist. We spent a year building the band itself and writing our first setlist and performed in January 2015.”

The band released their debut record, “Of Time And Fate,” in the early summer of 2016, and it’s already made quite a big impact on their career, as well as helping the band find out what direction to go next.

“I think it’s done really well,” Tony comments, “It allowed us to step back and look at how far we’ve come from when we first began writing to what it is now. You can see the growth between the first and last songs we wrote. Being able to step back and look at it allows us to see where we can go in the future.”

Although it hasn’t even been a year since the band’s debut, they are already starting to get to work on their next release.

“We have a new song we’re playing regularly,” Tony hints, “We have half of the second album already written, but we’re really pushing the first album. It’s honestly just the start.”

The band has been playing quite a lot of shows in support of that debut release, and there have been some interesting comments about what their live performances are like.

“We’ve gotten a lot of comparisons but one of the most accurate ones was that we were a cross between Pink Floyd and 30 Seconds To Mars,” Tony reveals, “[We’re] a blend of contemporary rock with progressive rock.”

With the one year anniversary of the band’s first album right around the corner and new music on the way, what’s next for the band going forward?

“Right now, just playing more shows and getting our name out there,” Tony says, “We’re playing a one year anniversary show of the album where we play the whole thing in full. By the end of the year or early next year we want to hit the road, share the music with everyone and make more fans.

It seems like The Vox Arcanum have a lot ahead of them, and are more than ready to see what the future has in store.
