Today, we are excited to bring you the exclusive premiere of “Cusack, 1984/I’m On Fire,” the latest release from California based indie rock band Life Size Models.
“‘Cusack, 1984’ was written during a time of reflection. What does it really mean to be in love? Is it running through the airport at the last minute or is it hard talks, late nights, and red eyes? ‘Cusack, 1984’ suggests that it’s a bit of both,” the band says, “Romantic representations of love don’t often line up with reality. Hopefully “Cusack, 1984” reassures people that even when your love life doesn’t end like the movies, you can still grow after the credits roll.”
The band are releasing “Cusack, 1984” as part of a double single, and are also releasing a cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “I’m On Fire” as the other track in this release. ”There are literally dozens of covers of the Bruce Springsteen classic, ‘I’m On Fire’ that sound exactly like the original recording. I was inspired to add my cover to the pile by approaching the song from a unique perspective. Evocative, simmering, & aching are all adjectives that came to mind when I sat down to consider the lyrics. I felt that the slow burning anthemic approach taken towards the instrumentation served the lyricism while bringing something new to the table for both the song and the band,” vocalist/guitarist Chris says about the cover, “It’s no coincidence that ‘I’m on Fire’ was originally released in 1984. The band took into consideration that Life Size Models version of ‘I’m on Fire’ would be a perfect sonic & thematic addition to side A of the new release: ‘Cusack, 1984.’” LISTEN TO “CUSACK, 1984” HERE:LISTEN TO “I’m on fire” here:FOLLOW LIFE SIZE MODELS ON SOCIAL MEDIA HERE:
